ILE BRESIL - Vincent Catala

Île Brésil is Vincent Catala’s first monograph, the result of ten years of photographic exploration in the urban outskirts of Rio, São Paulo, and Brasília. Moving away from Brazil’s usual clichés, the artist reveals invisible territories—neither poor nor prosperous—where isolation is as much mental as it is geographic. Balancing technical rigor with instinctive wandering, his images expose the ambiguity of a continental country caught between a sense of inevitability and a desire for change.
